I AM AN ISLAND

WORLD PREMIERE

WRITTEN BY JULIA LEDERER

We chose I AM AN ISLAND for our second production because we believe in storytelling’s power to tackle pressing issues. The play explores the emotional toll of climate change and the struggle to find meaning when the world feels out of control, reminding us that even in overwhelming times, we have each other.

I AM AN ISLAND was selected as part of the prestigious AT&T Performing Arts Center's Elevator Project for the 2024-2025 season, showcasing emerging local artists.

Our nonprofit partners for this production were Dallas Sierra Club, Environment Texas, and Cedar Ridge Preserve. Proceeds of the production were given back to these wonderful organizations.

The Talkbacks

  • "Your mission, your dedication to non profit partnerships, and the respect you show your artists in pay and creativity! I will be itching to be working with y’all again...!"

    Cast Member

  • "Thank y'all so much for putting all of this together and offering a space for Dallas environmental groups to reach the public. It is often hard for our groups to break out of our bubble and reach the general public, so this was an especially valuable experience."

    Nonprofit Partner

  • "My husband and I... enjoyed the panel discussion ... I did enjoy the motifs/metaphors throughout the play that sparked later conversation."
